The Uni brand has some deep domain industry roots. From the early days of DomainNameSales.com, our legendary founder Frank Schilling built one of the most powerful sales platforms for domain investors. Under the Uniregistry moniker, later to become Uni, Frank spearheaded the mission to become a disruptive and impactful domain sales venue combined with a registrar.
As memorable as our platform was, we like to think we’re also remembered for our events and marketing, including our Las Vegas Hakkasan parties and sending sumptuous rum cakes right from our Cayman Islands office to customers.
The investor-centric product focus has only been strengthened since joining GoDaddy. Our same designers and developers are working hard to incorporate Uni’s unique product offering and domain industry perspective. Looking at GoDaddy’s new portfolio management dashboard, Afternic’s lead center, or the new Auctions Buying List, Uni users will likely spot our influence at GoDaddy. And it’s something we’re proud to continue with moving forward.
With GoDaddy now incorporating the popular best-in-class product features of Uni, we have been slowly migrating customers to GoDaddy, an undertaking that is nearing completion.
What you need to know
On April 18, 2023, we’ll be retiring the Uni market, parking platform, self-brokerage service, and Uni App for Market. The ability to register new domains and transfer domains to Uni will also end on April 18, 2023. Then, during May 2023, any remaining accounts and domain names at Uni will be migrated to GoDaddy. After that, Uniregistry.com and the Uni App will close.
The Uni journey doesn’t end here, though. The influence of Uni’s staff within GoDaddy will ensure that we continue our dedication to building value for the domain name industry.
The whole Uni team would like to share our gratitude to you for all the collaboration and partnerships throughout the years, and we look forward to many more to come with GoDaddy.
